It seemed like quite a long day. Both up early; Shirl to work & me pottering about getting ready for the off later in the afternoon.
A final check over of the Yam Super Ten & a bit of angst regarding the plugged (repaired) back tyre. Should I change it? No, pack some 'Slime' & an inner tube just in case.
Shirl got away a couple of hours early, so we were on the road for 4.45pm straight into Friday afternoon traffic, made worse by a Traction Engine travelling at walking pace with a long queue behind it. The route out through Melton & Oakham was slow going.
Heavy traffic on the A14 added time, so it was about 6.30 when we stopped for tea at Cambridge services. Mexican food. I like it, but it doesn't like me......parp 😬
M11/M25/M20 to The Premier Inn, Ashford North. Nice place, very comfortable. Glad we decided to do an overnighter instead of an early start. Gives us a lot less miles tomorrow.
